SuKE: Sustainable Kelulut Ecosystem

Aminah madu kelulut

Aminah Madu Kelulut project is part of Mahallah Aminah’s initiative to support SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. This project, in collaboration with Kesatuan Kakitangan Sokongan Satu, IIUM (KESATU), is intended to promote the consumption of natural honey produced by the stingless bee that is known to contain numerous health benefits. Live enzymes in honey produced by stingless bees can help renew aging cells, rich in natural antibiotics as well as provide nutrients such as antioxidants. The species of kelulut bred in Mahallah Aminah is known as the heterotrigona itama. Part of the goal of this project is to produce honey-based products for sale among the IIUM community to empower our B40 residents’ entrepreneurship efforts.
