Investing in sanitation is necessary to prevent needless deaths, improve lives and livelihoods and provide dignity. World Toilet Day is a United Nations Observance that celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the importance of clean toilet sanitation in human life as well as to make the public aware of clean toilet culture. It seeks to inspire action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and help achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which promises sanitation for all by 2030.
Recognizing the importance of this World Toilet Day, the Office of Deputy Rector Student Development and Community Engagement (ODRSCE) through the Council of Principals of Mahallah (COP) organizes the IIUM World Toilet Day Celebration in the year 2020. This celebration is the part of the Clean Toilet Campaign program that has been conducted locally, nationally and globally.
