Little Free Library Campaign 2021 is a campaign that organized by the Welfare Bureau from Mahallah Representative Committee of Mahallah Ruqayyah for 2020/2021 tenure. It is mainly to introduce to the residents of this Mahallah to the Students Lounge including our Mini Library. Even though the both of it has been opened since last year, but there are not many residents know about the existence of it. This campaign was held from 1st January 2021 until 24th January 2021, as we also conduct a book donation activity during this campaign.
On 2nd January 2021, the participants making a preparation and decoration on student lounge and mini library, while on 3rd January 2021, the launching of Mini Library Mahallah Ruqayyah was held. Thus, the main focus throughout the program are to decorate and arrange the launching of Student Lounge and Mini Library, as well as received book donation from students and staffs. Hence, through this campaign, the residents were well-informed about the existence of these facilities in Mahallah Ruqayyah. Therefore, they will utilize it to the fullest for their study purposes such as group discussion. Hence, this program was targeted to give a long-lasting benefit to residents and Mahallah itself.
The Little Free Library Campaign has successfully achieved its own objectives which are introduced the Students Lounge and Mini Library to the residents of Mahallah Ruqayyah, encouraged students to donate books so that everyone can gain benefits from it. At the same time, added new reading materials at the Students Lounge and Mini Library as well as make the Student Lounge and Mini Library look lively to attract the residents, both local and international students to use the room.
Due to pandemic Covid-19, there are two categories of participants, which some participants joined from home, and the other are at Mahallah, the participants give full cooperation and commitment throughout the program. Moreover, participants, MRC and fellow provided thoughtful ideas in setting up Student Lounge and Mini Library. Although some participants are not in the Mahallah to work there together, but they give the ideas from home and the participants in Mahallah were help each other and work hard until this program ends.
